Schepp Modellbau!
The company Schepp Modellbau has its base at the wonderful Lake
"Bodensee" in Germany.
We've been building model sailing yachts and developing sailing
winches since 1998.
It all began with the first classic-model construction of the "Lacustre",
which started with the digitalisation of the original 1938 construction
plans into a CAD-system. The prototype was then painstakingly built
over many days, (and nights!). What was missing however were sailing
winches which would enable this fantastic scale-model actually to
sail with the same style, speed and panache as the original.
Nowhere on the market however, could a solution be found which
covered the issues of the transportation distance and a Genoa which
could perform the tasks whilst being controlled remotely.
What needed to be produced was clear from the experience and information
from the original 'master', so a way just had to be found to realise
all of the functionality, in a reliable fashion via a remote control
unit.
